The First Awareness Seminar to the Local Suppliers:

In an effort to Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) to apply the mechanism of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) to support the national industry in the oil sector, Suppliers Service Center (SSC) organized an Awareness Seminar about Suppliers Service Center and “KNPC – Vendors Pre-Qualification Process” that was held in Dar Al Wataniya – KNPC Head Office in Ahmadi.

The seminar began with a safety moment followed by a welcome speech delivered by Mr. Ali Abdullah Ahmed. He pointed out that the aim of holding such meetings is to upgrade the suppliers and contractors awareness of the local products and services demanded by KNPC and to increase the number of local companies it deals with for the benefit of both parties, stressing the importance of continuing to work as a team to build a successful partnership with local manufacturers, contractors and suppliers through constant communication and teamwork spirit to serve the oil sector and the national economy in implementation of the recommendations issued by the seventh SPAC meeting.

The seminar was facilitated by four speakers: For his part, Mr. Mahmoud Layri, Tl., QA&SS gave a brief presentation on the services provided by SSC for the local suppliers , praising the efforts of SSC team members who well prepared for that event which impressed all the guests.

The seminar was attended by a number of KNPC team leaders, a group of employees, and representatives of many local suppliers operating in the oil industry and seeking to register their products.

However, Mr. Husain AlKharafi Kuwait Industries Union (KIU), chairman delivered a speech on the benefits of Establishing Suppliers Partnership Advisory Council (SPAC) to encourage the national industry and upgrade the relations with local companies to develop the oil industry in Kuwait. Followed by a detailed speech delivered in by Mr. Ahmad Al Tabtabai, Chairman, Vendors & Contractors Evaluation Committee (V&CEC) on KNPC vendors, Pre-Qualification Process. And the last facilitator was Mr. Sudhakar Kandaswami, QA Engineer who explained Vendors Performance Points Scheme to the suppliers. Towards the end, there was a question & answer session where representatives of local companies posed their questions and queries that were addressed by SSC team members.
